A new record that consolidates the country as one of the Caribbean's leading tourism destinations.

The Dominican Republic continues to strengthen its international tourism leadership. From January to July 2026, the country received 7,700,118 visitors—the highest figure recorded for the first seven months of any year in Dominican tourism history. This result represents growth of 7% compared with 2025, 10.4% compared with 2024 and 69.6% compared with 2019, confirming the sustained evolution of a strategic industry for the country’s economic development and international profile.

Beyond the figures, this new milestone reflects the Dominican Republic’s ability to remain a competitive, attractive and relevant destination in an increasingly demanding tourism market. Its air connectivity, hotel infrastructure, diverse experiences and renowned hospitality continue to position the country among the preferred options of millions of travelers.

The result marks a significant moment for national tourism and reaffirms a growth trend that continues to expand opportunities for sectors connected to destination development.

Growth that sets a new benchmark

Of the more than 7.7 million visitors registered in the first seven months of 2026, 5,885,259 arrived by air, while 1,814,859 were sea and cruise visitors. In July 2026 alone, the Dominican Republic received 1,083,448 visitors: 921,718 air tourists and 161,730 cruise passengers.
